TAU SECURES NUC APPROVAL FOR POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL AND 27 NEW PROGRAMMES

Thomas Adewumi University, Oko-Irese, has achieved another milestone by securing approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for its Postgraduate School and the commencement of 27 new postgraduate programmes. This follows a successful resource verification exercise conducted last month

The approval was formally conveyed in an official letter signed by Abubakar M. Gire, Acting Director of Academic Planning (Program Accreditation), on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NUC. According to the letter, the commission has approved the full-time mode of these programmes at TAU’s main campus, effective from the 2024/2025 academic session.

The newly approved Programmes are- B.Sc. Cyber Security- PGD, Masters, M.Sc., and Ph.D. Accounting- PGD, MBA, M.Sc., and Ph.D. Business Administration- PGD, Masters, M.Sc., and Ph.D. Mass Communication- PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D. Computer Science- Masters, M.Sc., and Ph.D. Software Engineering- M.Sc. and Ph.D. Criminology and Security Studies- PGD, M.Sc., and Ph.D. Economics- M.Sc. and Ph.D. Biochemistry- M.Sc. and Ph.D. Microbiology

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca O. Oladipo, expressed gratitude to the faculty, staff, and stakeholders whose dedication contributed to this achievement. She stated:”Very many thanks to you all for your unwavering commitment. God bless you all abundantly in Jesus’ name.”

With the immediate commencement of these programmes, TAU is poised to become a hub for advanced studies, driving national and global deve lopment through cutting-edge research, innovation, and the training of highly skilled professionals.
