HEALTHY AND NUTRITIONAL FRUITS !

Fruit is the fleshy or dry ripened ovary of a plant, that can be eaten as food, without cooking. Let’s familiarize Ourselves with some nutritional fruits : 

  1. APPLE: Apple is one of the most popular fruits. It is rich in both soluble and insoluble fiber, such as Cellulose, Pectin, and  Hemicellulose, all of these help you manage your blood sugar level, aid good digestion and support heart health. Regular consumption of apples lowers the risk of heart disease, strokes, cancer, being overweight and neurological disorders.
  2. BANANAS: Bananas contain Potassium, they offer a wide variety of plant compounds called Polyphenols and Phytosterols, both of which give support to health generally. Unripe bananas are higher in resistant starch than ripe ones and they are a good source of dietary fiber pectin. Generally, Bananas help to improve blood sugar control and better digestive health.
  3. ORANGES: Oranges are known for their high Vitamin C content, providing 91% daily value in a single fruit. They are also high in Potassium, Folate, Fiber, and Plant polyphenols. They help to lower inflammation, blood pressure, cholesterol, and post-meal blood sugar. Making orange juice is another fun way to enjoy your oranges, although 100% orange juice provides a high volume of nutrients and antioxidants but lacks dietary fiber. Ensure to keep juice portions to 1 cup or less per serving.
  4.  MANGO: Mangoes are good sources of Potassium, Fiber, and Vitamins A, C, B6, E, and K. Mangoes have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown it may protect the body from chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain forms of cancer. Mangoes contain fiber, which helps support regular bowel movements and aids digestive health.
  5. AVOCADO: Avocados are high in healthy fats and low in natural sugars. They are mostly made of Oleic acid, a monosaturated fat linked to amounts of potassium, fiber, vitamin B6, folate, Vitamin E, and K. Avocados are higher in calories than most other fruits.
  6. PINEAPPLE: this is one of the most popular tropical fruits. Pineapple provides Vitamin C. It helps with blood sugar regulation and acts as an antioxidant. Pineapple contains an enzyme known as bromelain, which people commonly use to tenderize meats.
  7. Cherries: Cherries are a great source of fiber and potassium, both of which are important for the heart. They are a good source of Serotonin, tryptophan and melatonin which aids good mood and sleep.
