March 21st is globally marked as the International day for the elimination against Racism. Racial discrimination refers to the practice of treating people differently or unjustly because of their race, ethnic, skin colour , language or religion. Racial discrimination takes place anywhere in our daily lives, in offices, school, healthcare, On Vehicles, Restaurants etc. 

Over the years, UNESCO has celebrated the International Day by organizing events in its Headquarters and field offices. The struggle against racial discrimination is a central element of UNESCO’S work to build peace in the minds of Men and Women. Fight against Racism highlights the advocacy of some leading Industries such as Sports, Music, Fashion, Movies among others, to advance equality and anti-discrimination.

Today, people who are racially discriminated suffers from inequitable access to quality healthcare, poor housing, a lack of access to quality education, over-representation in the criminal justice system.

–  Racism can be addressed by speaking out against Racism, discrimination and Xenophobia when you encounter it.

– Encourage anti-racism and racial equality in all areas of life including workplace, schools and communities and promote policies and initiatives that support these values.

– Issues of Racism and discrimination can be addressed through policies, initiatives and education.

RACISM is a demon of hate, we all must be ready to fight this demon, let’s stand against Racism.
